| I just noticed something really weird. The Social Security released its rankings of the most popular baby names for 2004. I went to the cite to check it out, and being the navel-gazer that I am, I looked up Gregory. It turns out that Gregory peaked in popularity the year of my birth and has been steadily declining ever since. This is not that unusual if you consider that if a name had a spike in popularity as Gregory had most people with that name would have been born around that time. The thing that makes it odd, however, is that my naming had nothing to do with the fads of the time, because I named after my dad. My father's first son was going to be named Gregory no matter when he was born, so it's odd that of all the years from 1975 to 1995 when it could have conceivably happened, I happened to be born in the year when my name was at its peak popularity. | | |
| As I've said, I have been focusing my energies on my other blog. But I noticed something odd in the traffic stats over there. It said that someone came here, then to BanjoSteve, from a computer in the U.S. Patent Office. I can't for the life of me think of anyone I know who works there. Do I know you, Patent Office person? If so, (or even if not) how did you find your way to my xanga? | | |
| Yikes! It's a long long time since I've posted!
Unfortunately for all of you clamoring fans, it will be a long long time before I post again. While I don't want to leave this site forever, for the time being my blogging energies will be focused on my other blog.
I hope everyone who's enjoyed my thoughtful insights into such arcane topics as Oscar nominations and breasts will enjoy my new site.

| Haven't updated in a while, and honestly, I don't really feel like doing so now, but I found a poem online that I like:
Ode to Spot Lieutenant Commander Data, U.S.S. Enterprise
Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature, An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.
I find myself intrigued by your sub-vocal oscillations, A singular development of cat communications That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.
A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents; You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance. And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion, It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotions.
Oh Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display Connote a fairly well developed cognitive array And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend, I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.
